Summer Construction Projects at Alisal USD schools

The construction capstone project at Alisal USD this summer was the demolition of Fremont and Alisal Community, which will resume this week after unexpected delays postponed demolition of the main building. 

But demolition of the District’s two oldest schools was not the only project being handled by the Business Division this summer. Eight schools had Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning systems installed, pocket tables at multi purpose rooms were removed at six schools, asphalt was refreshed also at six schools. 

Heating, ventilation and air conditioning: at Bardin, Steinbeck, Monte Bella, MLK, Sanchez, Loya, Creekside, and Chavez. The new buildings at Alisal Community and Fremont already had new HVAC systems. 

Alisal Community: Demolition and preparation for new building.

Bardin Elementary: Remove wall table pockets in multi-purpose room, paint, install new rubber base.

Cesar E. Chavez Elementary: Remove wall table pockets in multi-purpose room, paint, new rubber base, corner guards and tile base in restrooms.

Creekside Elementary: Remove wall table pockets in multi-purpose room, paint, new rubber base, corner guards and tile base in restrooms.

Frank Paul Elementary: Restroom remodel and exterior improvements. Improve two restrooms and remove and replace asphalt in play area. 

Fremont Elementary: Demolition and preparation for new building.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Academy:  Remove wall table pockets in multi-purpose room, install rubber base and interior paint. Asphalt repairs, slurry, seal and restripe playground. Remove two existing speed bumps and replace one, repair damaged asphalt, slurry, seal and restripe playground.  

Dr. Oscar F. Loya Elementary: Remove wall table pockets in multi-purpose room, install rubber base and interior paint

Monte Bella: Replace temporary speed bump with asphalt speed bump. Five speed bumps were added, one in the school bus loop and four within the drop-off area. 

Jesse G. Sanchez Elementary:  Remove wall table pockets in multi-purpose room, install rubber base and interior paint. Asphalt repairs, slurry, seal and restripe playground.

John E. Steinbeck Elementary: patch concrete and asphalt outside. 

Virginia Rocca Barton Elementary: new trim paint, corner guards, rubber base and tile base in restrooms. Patch and repair asphalt outside.
